Barely Bent Books opened its doors in 1995. Almost fours years ago they moved a few doors south to its present location at 7 North Village Avenue (between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road). "We offer brand new books and a wonderful variety of gently, pre-read paperback books in all genres for all ages (hardcover books for children) at a 50% discount off list price," said the owner. Also available are hardcover books that can be rented including selections from the Best Sellers Lists. If you have books that you've finished reading that are in good condition, Barely Bent will accept them for credit towards your next purchase of pre-read books.
Handmade fabric bookcovers in an assortment of sizes and designs make lovely gifts for you or someone special. Gift certificates may also be purchased. Recently there have been some exciting changes. Comfortable nooks for reading and reflection have been created, and plans are being made for various community gatherings. "Please drop in to say hello and see what we're all about."
